KKhushnud (32), who came to Korea from Tajikistan to study and now resides in Dong-gu, Busan, spoke in clear Korean on the 19th. After completing a one-year language program at Kyung Hee University in Seoul in 2018, he was selected as a government-invited scholarship by the National Institute for International Education and enrolled in Kyungsung University’s Department of Industrial and Management Engineering in 2019.

After four years of university life, Khushnud graduated and, upon the recommendation of the Kyungsung University president, obtained a F-2-R Visa. Since October last year, he has been working in the logistics sector at Goraesa Eomuk, a local company.

Although he is currently working in logistics, Khushnud hopes to serve as a bridge between Busan and Tajikistan. “I want to introduce Busan’s representative products to Tajikistan by establishing store formats that don’t yet exist there, like Daiso or Olive Young,” he said. “Furthermore, I hope to identify Busan products that would be popular in Tajikistan and start my own business.”

Khushnud is married to Meha, a Russian-born former international student who graduated from Dongseo University, and in 2020, they had their daughter, Kiana. Kiana was born in Busan, and Khushnud’s ultimate goal is for his family to settle permanently in the city. “I have always been interested in Korea, and after hearing from a senior who came here before me that it’s a great place to study and a safe country, I decided to come,” he said. “My dream is to obtain permanent residency and for my family to live happily in Busan for the rest of our lives.”
