Visiting Professor (Non-tenure track full-time position) and Lecturer Positions Available 


KYUNGSUNG UNIVERSITY SOLICITS APPLICATIONS TO ESTABLISH A LIST OF ELIGIBLES FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION: 1) VISITING PROFESSOR, NON-TENURE TRACK, FULL-TIME 2) LECTURER


Kyungsung University located in Busan, South Korea is the most premier and exclusive university, the South Eastern province of South Korea. 2. Qualifications
< Minimum Qualifications > 

 Position

 Minimum Qualification (one of the conditions must be met)

 Visiting Professor

- Candidates must have earned a Doctorate (Ph.D.)

- Earned Master’s Degree and two years of research or industrial experiences in fields relevant to the position.

- Earned Bachelor’s Degree and four years of research or industrial experience in fields relevant to the position

- Applicants who are ABD (All But Dissertation) in their Doctoral program may be considered.

 Lecturer

- Candidates with a PhD, ABD status, or enrolled in a PhD program.

- Earned Master’s Degree and two years of research or industrial experiences in fields relevant to the position.

- Earned Bachelor’s Degree and three years of research or industrial experience in fields relevant to the position


< Preferred Qualifications > 

  1. Preference will be given to candidates who have fully completed their Ph.D. in the relevant area. Candidates with a distinguished record of research publications in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, and SCOPUS indexed journals will be highly preferred.
  2. A Successful record of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses is highly preferred. Teaching experience gained at English Language Academies, as an EPIK assistant teacher, private tutor, or unpaid tutor will not be considered applicable.
  3. Applicants must commence work on September 1st, 2024 with a valid visa status; otherwise, the appointment shall be rescinded (candidates who currently residing in South Korea are preferred).
  4. Applicants must be eligible for appointment according to the stipulations of the Korean government regarding private university employment regulations.
  5. Applicants must be able to conduct lectures in English.
  6. For the Visiting Professor Position: Candidates will be considered for the rank of assistant professor and must demonstrate the potential to pursue a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, productive research, and active professional and community service. In addition to teaching and conducting research, successful candidates will be required to perform academic and career counseling, serve on departmental, college and university committees, and participate in assessment activities.

3. Screening Procedures
      : Screening process will be based on the submitted documents and interviews.

4. Application Process and Required Application Documents

      : Submit the application and the documents listed below by post, e-mail or in person.
     A. An up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) including lists of all research publications and visa status.
     B. A cover letter.
     C. Copies of all graduate and undergraduate transcripts and other relevant documents.

5. Employment Conditions and Benefits (only for visiting professors)

     A. The salary will be start from 40,000,000 KRW (gross salary) per year include a housing allowance
     B. Severance pay is provided as stipulated by the pension law for private university employees.

6. Further Remarks
 

  1. All documents should be submitted by July 17th, 2024.
  2. Applicants must be eligible for appointment according to private university regulations and satisfy the requirements for employment required by the Korean government.
  3. Positions may not be filled if there are no satisfactory candidates.
  4. In the event that an applicant is found to be unqualified either through an act of omission or fraud, the applicant will be immediately rejected.
  5. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified individually by e-mail for an interview.
  6. All application documents in a language other than Korean or English must be accompanied by a notarized Korean or English translation.
  7. The Process may need to be terminated if the visa status of the candidate is deemed unstable or unsuitable for the position by August 31st, 2024. (It requires a minimum of three weeks to alter the visa status, therefore it is recommended to make a reservation on 'hikorea.go.kr' in early August.) 
  8. Notification regarding the interview will be communicated to each person individually.
